THE GREAT LIGHTS

The fact that someone prays in tongues does not necessarily mean he is spiritual, likewise a brother manifesting the gifts of the spirit does not denote that he is more spiritual. Many have in mind that the fact that they don’t speak in tongue, they don’t have the Holy Ghost in them. Not manifesting your spiritual gifting does not means God is cheating on you. It is good to have role models to ignite your spiritual growth, but that does not mean you are a fool. In fact, the books and sermons of our fellow Christians are there to make us spiritual giant on earth than them. They share their faith and revelations just to come to know Christ more. Why? Because Christianity is not selfish; our nature is to love, therefore we share.
It is also true that we have matured Christians and immature Christians. Immature Christians are carnal, or body-ruled, Christians. Paul told the Corinthians, "For ye are yet carnal..." (1 Cor. 3:3). One translation of this verse reads, "You are body-ruled." In other words, their bodies, through their unrenewed minds, were ruling their spirits—even though they were new creatures in Christ. Though they were operating in all the spiritual gifts “so that you come behind no gift…” (1 Cor. 1:7) They never had developed spiritually.
Many Christians live and die as spiritual babies. The faith life always is obscure to them. They never understand faith. Yet we cannot fully live the Christian life unless we walk by faith, because the Bible says that we are to walk by faith, not by sight.
This is the two great lights; one shineth at day and the other at night. These two lights God called GREAT. “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also” (Gen. 1:14-16)
These two great light God made, and ushered one for the day, and the other for the night. Light shining on the day is much clearer than that of the night. For example, at daytime- When the sun has risen, even in your room, the light is able to reach there, in corners the light reaches and within objects it is there, but at night, even if the whole moon appears to be full and in its brightest form, it is still less. It is the lesser light while at the day there is the greater lights.
The greater light is able to search through corners, its intensity is far greater than that of the lesser light, it contains fire. Some Christians are leaving in the lesser light and hence can’t see the blessing God has installed for them. It cannot search into the deeper things of God for they are uncertain for them to see. The immature are almost considered to be in the dark (sometimes called church goers), their lights is dim. For as they become carnal, they move from Christianity to darkness. They are able to prophesy at church, they are easily carried by the Spirit of God to talk to us, yet they are carnal. They still have light in them, and these are those who are living in unbelief. They don’t know their possession so they can’t claim them. They are in the lesser light; they are week Christians, babies in Christ because they refuse to grow.
There was this lady leaving some meters from my house that I was acquainted to. She prayed anytime she repents with tears and sometimes fasting. The next time, she is back in it. She would enjoy her nights and play the guys around like dresses in her drawer. One morning, I went to her house and finally caught her there; I invited her for a program. Her aunt didn’t want her to go, because she thought I was one of her guys. I showed her my face and assured her of her safety. When it was time --in the evening--, we went together to worship God. We entered into a revival ministry and this lady sat on a chair staring till the pastor recommended we stand straight.
As the prayers was in motion, the hand of the Lord came upon her and she started speaking in tongues; as if it was her mother language, then her tongue changed into our local language –the interpretations. She became the vessel God used, she prophesied to edify the church. Yet she is known to be in those acts, because she is carnally minded, an immature Christian.
But as we renew our mind daily with the word of God, we keep on shining and shining, we keep discovering who we are. Paul, also writing to believers, said, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the RENEWING of your MIND, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Rom. 12:1,2).
We are children of the day, not of the night, we are of the light, not of darkness; let the day shine in your heart. “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night or of darkness.” (1 Th. 5:5). Shout hallelujah, I dwell in the greater lights, the bible says we are children of the day not of the night, let the day dawn in your heart, let the day start rise in your heart. There is a greater, oh glory to God. There is a greater light my brother; there is a greater light my sister. Walk in the greater light; live in the greater light, ha-ha J we are of the day, not of the nights.
